Steel Beans Biography
Steel Beans is the musical project of multi-instrumentalist Jeremy DeBardi. Rather than relying on a conventional band lineup, he creates arrangements in real time, layering parts to turn a solo set into a dynamic live show. That hands-on approach gives the performance a distinctive character: audiences can watch the music take shape as each layer is added.

Steel Beans Phoenix reviews
Celtic Woman
A tapestry is Steel Beans of light and sound woven together with the genius of David Downes. Nothing compares to a live performance, no matter how many times a person listens to a recording, even on the best system available. The power of the percussionist, the gentle music of the uleann pipes and the acoustic guitar, as well as the beautiful chorus, all blend together in a harmony of color, providing the rich background for the five talented ladies. Lisa Kelly's return from maternity leave is especially nice to see. Mairead's performance has been described so often that there is nothing more which can be said. It is best to have a pair of binoculars in order to see her constantly changing facial features, which are just as engrossing as her dancing. The tradition music, which has been performed on previous tours, and modern music originally performed and written by such artists as Styng, Billy Joel, Eric Clapton, Van Morrison, Phil Collins, and Cindy Lauper, make up the show. New songs such as "The Call," a powerful ballad with a similar theme to "The Voice," and "Isle of Hope," which refers to Ellis Island, tell the story of the first immigrant to enter Ellis Island, a young Irish girl by the name of Annie Moore. "O, America," a ballad dedicated to the United States, pays tribute to those citizens who have sacrificed so much. It is especially touching to know that this song was written and is performed by citizens of another country. David Downes's production accomplishes what he had intended. It provides a reprieve from the troubled world, and a person finds hope and joy in the music. For a brief while, all the turbulence fades and the music caresses the spirit.
